I've recently gotten into this myself and, wanted to share this out in case this turns out useful to someone else as well. I know this may not fit everyone's use cases but, I have been pretty happy with it and I know there's a community behind this too.
With HoneyGain, you basically convert your devices into small proxies, for other companies to use your unused bandwidth, which gives you a return on that usage. No user data is collected, other than what you give to them (login information and such, of course), the bandwidth is only used mostly for research or marketing purposes, leveraging your specific location. This is well explained in this reddit thread over here, and I know there's an FAQ plus lots more resources to clear up any questions. I have uncapped internet at home and don't really use my mobile data that much, so this is perfect for me.
Now, being realistic, it is not a lot of money to make on here - it has been several months and I've yet to receive my first payout. The minimum payout is $20 USD which is a bit high and, I've been making only cents per day. There are strategies towards earning more, but for me I'm completely fine with this being a small thing that I will receive a surprise on after a little bit. After all, this does not take any effort at all, other than just making sure that the Android app is running (sometimes Android will close it for me, even if I've told it not to optimize battery usage for this). Based on my own experience, I can also say this doesn't take any toll on CPU or resource usage at all.
